Can I upgrade to a newer version of an NV+?

Sorry to add a reply to my own message, but the rebuild of the 500 gb drive is still going on continuously after about 3 days. RAIDar can't get in to give me some kind of status about where in the cycle I am. The display says (in 2 lines):

Disk 1 sync
I'm in the process of getting at least 3 of those 2 TB NAS drives, but I want to wait until the entire old system has been restored and verified, and I want to make a straight backup to a 1 tb external I have lying around here. Then, I'll start the upgrades with the 2 tb NAS drives. But it would be nice to know the progress of the sync and its approximate end date. I do remember that the NAS was about 3/4 full when I put in the Barracuda.
