Are you using the GUI "Apps" page and then the "upload" feature on that page ?

Follow bedlam1's suggestion on how to upload the add-on manually. Lastly, ensure that you've selected the right add-on type that is compatible with your system (ARM 6.x, Intel 6.x and ARM 6.x 200 series).
