Not able to list directories from Onedrive
I have had working Cloud services (Google Drive and OneDrive) on my ReadyNAS Ultra 4 Plus running 6.10.10 for a very long time. This time I wanted to add a session for the OneDrive service. This f...

Microsoft is guilty of many things, but not this issue. This is 100% a problem on the Netgear side. No doubt something was changed to improve security on the directory listing call. Netgear needs to issue a Firmware update but that will not happen, They are gone from this business. I know some have held out in the hope they would release the source so that the community could keep things maintained. That's not happened by now, so it won't.
I've solved the problem anyhow. Moved to a Synology. Netgear is dead to me for any of their products, not just NAS.

Yes I’d also like to move to synology but waiting for update to their line of NAS, many of them are quite old.
- antibhainApr 26, 2025GuideYeah, Synology is very slow on hardware changes and are absolutely not bleeding edge on hardware. That said, they are very reliable. With them, it is all about the DSM operating system and app library and that's really what you're going to choose them for. Plus a huge user community.
There are, of course, other equally good alternatives from other vendors. People who have experience of those can chime in. In my case I replaced my ReadyNAS 314 4 bay with a DS923+. The quick summary of that is just "Wow".- vandermerweApr 26, 2025MasterYes I’m sure my experience would be the same. They are very expensive though and apart from these little issues with my Readynas devices they are also very reliable - I have 3 in operation a primary 316 as well as an Ultra 6 and NV+ which still run perfectly doing backups.
- antibhainApr 26, 2025GuideCompletely agree. I have the 314 and also a ReadyNAS Duo V1. They represent some of the best quality and well built hardware I have owned.
My annoyance with Netgear is on the way they dumped NAS. And leaving me to use my 314 as an Rsync target when it's still capable of so much more than a simple backup target and bookend!
With you on the pricing too. It's been too high. I've seen the DS923 selling for €300 to 400 more than I paid 12 months ago.

At the moment, the only certified drives are the Synology branded ones. Synology is saying they will set up a third-party certification program, but no news on when that will happen, or how long it will take them to certify a new drive.
- vandermerweApr 26, 2025MasterOh, I read somewhere that it was only the rackmount nas devices that had to use their drives, whereas the desktop devices could use any disk (even if not necessarily on the list of certified disks)
On their website the 923+ has lots of 3rd party drives on the list. The 925+ doesn’t yet but it’s just been released. I assume it’s the same for other models.
I’m waiting for a new 5 or 6 bay device.- antibhainApr 26, 2025GuideThis is correct. There is a broad range of drives and RAM that you can use on the non-rackmount NAS. Very easy to see what they are on the community forums. Seagate IronWolf, WD Red NAS, most enterprise drives when you see a deal - it's not a problem.
