Readnas OS 6.10.8 - last version?

Hi there, sorry if this has already been discussed, am new to the forum and have not been able to find anything through searching - I have a Readynas 202 from 2016 which had an updated to OS 6.10.8 in September last year and having read about how Netgear are closing the Readynas product line I was wondering whether this will be the last version of OS 6 we are likely to see?

Trying to figure out whether it is safe to stay with my RN202 or whether as time goes on there might be vulnerabilities that never get patched?

Any thoughts or info would be much appreciated.

Last comment on that here (some months ago) was that Netgear was still planning to provide security updates.

FWIW, they did notify customers via both email and the forum when they ended updates for 4.x and 5.x firmware.

That's great to know, thanks! I have everything set up how I like it and I'm not looking forward to starting all over again with a completely different product - will have to eventually but good to know I don't need to think about it just yet.
