Ready NAS 312 access when conncted to a monitor
Hi Community,
So my NAS 312 ethernet ports are not working for some reason (maybe after a power spike or after updating firmware)..
So I connected the NAS to a monitor and turned it on, it asked for a username and password which I put as I setup via the online portal previously. however it is not logging in for some reason.. is there some sort of trick I am missing?
I just need to get my data off the drives so I can transfer them over to another NAS.
Thanks

The login would be the same as what's used for SSH. Try 'root' (no quotes) as the username instead of 'admin' but use your 'admin' password.
Did you have SSH enabled?
If doing it in normal mode doesn't work you could try tech support mode (a boot menu option) as the credentials for that are the same for all ReadyNAS, though the process to copy data off (e.g. to a USB drive) would be more involved with that.- TracaAspirant
Thank you so much for your reply, that worked and I am in now.
The problem is I am not familiar with the commands.
How can I backup the drives (or one of them since they are mirrored) to an external hard drive via a USB?
What are the required command lines?
Thanks
