ready nas duo dead
Hi all,
Ready nas duo v1 (sparc) dead: powers on fan high speed, blinks all leds 3 times, then blinks disc 1 led 5 times, then repeats.
I've tried everything but can't get it to do anything for me, what is the best way to proceed? Documentation says to hold power button to get telnet access but i don't even know what the led patterns mean on this?

LED blink behavior for 2 disk systems is three quick blinks of all disk LEDs and the backup LED, followed by an 1s delay, followed by a number of slow blinks. The number of slow blinks will be the error code.
Current error codes:
1 - Vendor mismatch
2 - No disks detected
3 - Bad contents on root partition of disks
4 - Flash error
5 - Unsupported RAID configuration
5 blinks is the "unsupported RAID configuration".
You could try powering down, removing disk 2, and then rebooting. Though I think it is a long shot.
Assuming that fails, the simplest option is test the disks, and if they are ok do a factory reset. Do you have a backup?
EDIT - it appears that failed memory can also create this blink pattern. viewtopic.php?f=64&t=71737&p=404424#p404424
