Ready NAS104 using RAID5 on 6.6.1 upgrading one 2 TB HD to 3 TB
Server is a Ready NAS104 on OS 6.6.1 using RAID5.
Original HD config:
1 - 1TB
1 - 1.5TB
2 - 2TB
Replaced one of the 2TB HDs as it was "going bad" with a 3TB HD.
However, after resyncing there was still 4.08TB of storage available.
How can I increase the storage w/o having to backup existing data and resetting to factory default?
- There is 1.5TB of capacity on the 3TB HDD that the NAS won't be able to use. The ReadyNAS needs to have at least two devices to create a (sub) RAID array on. If you upgrade another HDD to 3TB, then it will increase the volume capacity.
