Readynas 102 - Can't clear diskspace
Ok, this is getting rediculous...
I;ve tried everything but i cant seem to clear diskspace on the readynas (firmware 6.2.4.)
I deleted files, scheduled cleaning sessions and defrag sessions etc.. but the NAS keeps saying its almost full.. while there is literally next to nothing on it anymore.
I think it has to do something with the fact that shadowcopy seems to be on on the shares for 8 months, but i already de-selected that weeks ago and it still says that shadowcopy is on on all shares.
But even then.. it should also "shadowcopy" when i remove files!!..
ANyone got a clue?, cause now the ReadyNAS 102 is just a fancy expensive harddisk case with empty yet full useless disks

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserNot sure what you mean by shadowcopy, but am guessing you meant snapshots?
If so, did you just turn snapshots off, or did you also delete the snapshots that had already been made? - Riesj74AspirantYeah sorry its on dutch, so i guessed they meant shadowcopy... but snapshot is a better translation :P
I turned it off... i didnt delete anything since i have no clue where it is (i read somewhere that there should be a \data\.purge\ directory but i cant find it).
It also shows on the management window for the shares that its still turned on, eventhough i turned it off. - vandermerweMasterYou'll need to go into each share, click on recover. That should bring up the snapshot view. You then need to delete snapshots. You can select more than one but I've seen this cause problems so I do it one at a time.
Make sure you don't actually recover any files or folders. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredOnce you've deleted a number of snapshots and freed up a lot of space it would be a good idea to run a balance.
- Riesj74Aspirantomg thanks, that worked.
i wouldnt have found that if my life depended on it.
