ReadyNAS 102 free diskspace.
I got a warning that my diskspace was used for more than 70%. I tried to free up some space but after I deleted a buch of files the consumed diskspace stays the same.
When I used the property function in Windows I noticed that de filesize of a specific folder is 9.7 GB but that the size on disk is 33.3 GB. Wherefrom come the difference? And is this the reason I can't free up diskspace?
How to solve the problem because I'm certain that the total amout of files (size) on the NAS are much less than the system displays.

Usually this problem happens because you have snapshots enabled (so deleting the files doesn't actually remove them).
So check that first. You can delete snapshots for each share from the web ui.

Hi StephenB, Thanks for your reaction. I'm not very familar with all the functions. So I can delete the snapshots (do I have to do it one at a time or can I select more than one?) and then disable snapshots to avoid this happen in future?

You can select all the snapshots in the share, and delete them all at once. That might depend on the browser you are using (I use chrome).
And of course turn them off if you don't want new ones in the future.
Though snapshots are a useful feature. I keep them on for most shares, and go in monthly and delete the oldest backup in each.
