ReadyNAS 102 Squeezebox Touch connection issue
Hi all, new here so please be nice :D Ok so I've bought myself a Squuezebox Touch and a ReadyNAS 102 in which I installed 2 WD RED 3TB disks. The goal is to be able to stream all my music files...

Hi, sorry for replying so late, I was trying some things out.
Just to be clear: I share the wifi with the neighbours, not the LAN. I can only connect with the neighbours router via wifi, not via ethernet.
So I got myself a wireless repeater/LAN switch with DHCP server functionality so I could connect the SB with the NAS through the repeater/switch via ethernet as well as being able to connect the SB to the neighbours wifi through the repeater via ethernet as well, thus not having to switch between wifi and ethernet on the SB constantly. At least, that was the idea...
This kinda worked sometimes but the SB would often lose connection with either the NAS or Mysqueezebox.com, saying it wasn't able to resolve a proper IP adress for the squeezebox or couldn't find a DHCP server.
I now have the repeater solely set up as a DHCP server and the SB has as of yet not lost it's connection with the NAS, when connected through LAN. But when I now want to connect to Mysqueezebox.com through my neighbours wifi I have to switch network in the SB manually by going through some menus which is doable, but not very convenient.
I was thinking about your advice about giving my SB a static IP address...
When I manually have to fill in the IP address, it also asks for subnet mask, gateway IP and DNS address but it fills these in automatically after I have entered an IP address first. Should I just leave them as they are or instead copy these from the neighbour's router?
Also, when I give my SB a static IP address, is it then wise that I give my NAS a static IP address as well?
Thanks in advance,
Laszlo
