Yes, both. When I added the 4th disk, it did a resync
When it was done and I was able to log into the interface again, I had a warning that all 4 disks were inactive.
I stupidly decided to remove the 4th disk again and now it's doing a resync again...which will apparently take ~80hrs
I was thinkining I may have to call Netgear for this already but I'll wait and see if anyone else responds

Not the best idea. But the fact that it is resyncing is encouraging. I think it suggests that there's a good chances of getting your data back with minimal loss.

Great news! rebooting remounted my volumes and my data is intact!
that being said, after adding my 4th 4TB drive, I still only have just under 8TB of space. Anyone know why the new disk doesn't seem to have been added to the volume?

Please post the response to cat /proc/mdstat from ssh or the contents of mdstat.log from the downloaded log zip file.
