I always recommend using a UPS to protect the NAS from unclean shutdowns. They are more likely to cause trouble with RAID systems than with single disk systems (like most PCs).
What disks (manufacturer and model) are you using?
The resync is probably because there were queued writes pending when the power failed. That would cause the RAID array to get somewhat out of sync. The best strategy is to wait a bit longer. You can also contract paid support - though if you need a data recovery contract, that would be expensive.
