ReadyNAS 104 stuck in syncing state
Hi, I have ReadyNAS 104 which has been working reliably for years - just had a power outage and now when booting it showing resyncing on RAIDar and has been stuck at 0.4% for about 2 hours. I...
I've got onto the logs and admin back end now can see it's going to take about 9 hours to resync - just need to be patient!
One error I've noticed is 'System volume root's usage is 97%. This condition should not occur under normal conditions. Contact technical support.' - anybody any idea what this means and how to fix it?

ReadyNAS systems boot from a small OS partition (4 GB) that is on the disks. Your's is too full (normally it's ~20%, not 97%). You really do need to fix that, as if it stays that way you will end up corrupting the ReadyNAS configuration files.
If you have some skills with ssh, you could log into the linux command line and diagnose the problem further. Usually this is related to third-party apps using up the space, though there are some other causes.
Other options include
- contacting paid support. JohnCM_S or Marc_V (mods here) might be able to expedite it, and give you access to per-incident support.
- Back up all the files, do a factory default, and then set up the NAS again. Time-consuming, but free. Obviously you'd need to get the RN102 back up, in order to complete the backups.
Thanks - I'll leave it to rsync at the moment and then ssh in and see what I can find (after fixing my backups!)
