Readynas 104 unable to backup user profiles from network
I have setup a few backup jobs in the software , 1 works that backs up a whole drive which has various folders on it but no operating system.
Have setup another job for 2 different users on 2 different machines , staying logged out of the said machines whilst backing up, it finds the users folder fine and goes through the process seems to copy all data over but it fails to complete either backup , surely these devices will allow you to backup user profiles from network machines
Can anyone give me any pointers on how to do this simple task.
Been working with computers for over 20 years and don't think I've come across such a crappy piece of software for such a good looking device.
I have resorted to fastcopy11 in the interim while trying to get auto backups to work.
thanks in advance

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserI don't know of any way to exclude files from the NAS SMB backup.
My guess is that most backup solutions for Windows either silently skip ntuser.dat, ntuser.dat.log*, or are backing up the user profile using a different admin account. - BrucewhiAspirantjust spent an hour on the phone, one would think that the software would give us the opportunity to exclude files or folders setting up the job, pretty hopeless I would say as you cannot setup any volume backup that has an operating system on it .
thank you for your time Stephen. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserFWIW, I agree that all the backup options should provide a list excluded files/folders (with wild cards).
- BrucewhiAspirantlol we are in 2015 not 1915 :)
