You might try 6.4.1 beta (https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyNAS-Beta-Release/ReadyNASOS-6-4-1-T21-Beta-1/m-p/999457#U999457)
You can downgrade back to 6.4.0 if that creates any issues.
What firmware are you running?
Is disk spindown enabled?
