readynas 3100

Hi,
I have a readynas 3100, and it has only 3TB Memory.
Now I bought 4, 4TB hard drives, I would like to replace these with the old 1TB hard drives with hot swap.

Is there any special way to do it or not.

Please help.

Thanks

Did you make the backup first?

If you are under warranty contact support at support.netgear.com

Is the unit running, but no data is available? Or is the unit not running?
  • I backed up data, but unfortunately it was not enough, i forget to backup my VMs, but luckily I had one of the HDD which I pulled out first, when i insert that one everything start working again.
But i had to turn it off properly and then insert HDD and then turn it on. this makes it working. Right now it is syncing volume and disk two.
I will keep updating for future references too.

Thanks a lot for your help and support.
