ReadyNas 312 - very slow on small files
Good Day
I have a ReadyNas 312 ( which I am just about to replace with a 314 ).
Performance seems fine for moving larger files around but when copying lots of little files its extreemly slow.
I am trying to copy my apeture lib to the nas, it hit the database that has a LOT of sub directories with very small files inside and it is taking days to copy.
Is there a way to tweek it for these sorts of operations?

- I had similar with the ReadyNAS 104. Disabling the virusscanner speeded things up here.
- igorjeriAspirantThanks for the reply, however I have not enabled the anti-virus yet :-(
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat's the performance like if you use an iSCSI target?
The 314 has the same CPU as the 312 so performance should be similar. The 516 is a faster model. - igorjeriAspirantmdgm! Thank you!
I am new to NAS so have not heard of or taken advantage of iSCSI.
So after setting it up and provisioning it on my MAC I then managed to copy the files in good time! This made a huge difference.
Thank you!
