Thanks for your response.
I shall double check this the next time I am in at the office and see if it makes any difference. It may be a possibility as its been a while since I've checked the share settings on the NAS.

Its been a while but I am still having this issue with one PC on a small network and I cannot seem to find a way for this to work.
I do think its the PC that is the issue but am not sure.
What should be the premissions on the actual folder? I am unfamiliar with PC permissions as I am myself Mac based but I am wondering if the permissions are correct for the folder would it be possible that something within the folder itself could be causing this issue. I may be clutching at straws but I am frustrated that I cannot resolve this.
Any thoughts anyone?

Do you have a log on/password set on the backup job? Normally that would be the PC user log on (or the PC folder being backed up would have broad permissions).
On the PC you'd right click the shared folder to see the file permissions. The basic concept is similar to the Mac.

Hello Stephen, Many thanks for taking the time to respond.
"Do you have a log on/password set on the backup job?"
I have set this particular PC up the same as teh other five and none of them use the log on to access the folders being backed up. I can try it for this one possibly to see if it makes any change.

The folder in question is set to share by the process you mention. I have used the Advanced Sharing tab to allow Everyone to access.
I have tried setting up other folders to be backed up to the readynas but none of these connect either. I am trying to locate where the issue is be it with something to do with the readynas backup setup or the PC connection.
Is it possible to do a backup from the PC to the readynas at all to see if the connection works in the other direction? In some ways this may be possibly preferable for the users in question.
