ReadyNas 316 Unresponsive...

It seems as soon as the NAS gets to 92% filled, it becomes almost entirely unresponsive. Is there a reason for this? Curious, as I now spend hours waiting to move files over to the eda5000....

    Do you use snapshots?

What version of ReadyNAS OS are you running?

You should get emails warning you about usage when you are using more than 70% of the volume capacity.
  • sorry - message got cut off.

    no, on snapshots...
i get the warning message - but my question is more about why it is slow after 93%.
latest version of the firmware on a 316.

Any computer can get slow as it gets full.

It's possible a defrag or a balance (available in a future firmware release) may help, but even if it does it is a short term fix.

You need to free up space or expand your volume.
