ReadyNAS 516 not offering ability to create weblinks (share files)

I had this issue where I could sign in, access all files but could no longer create share links. I tried signing new accounts, I tried everything. I'm posting the solution to my problem here in case it helps someone - the network cable (on my router) was slightly out of the socket. It was that simple. I pushed it back in and everything returned to normal. Because I had access to everything and visually it looked fine I assumed it couldn't be the issue, but it was. So check those cables at both ends.
