Usually the log gets full because of a run-away log file. Though some add-ons (readydlna for intance) that create databases in the OS partition.
The next step is to find out where the big files are. Try "cd /var/log", followed by "ls -l" and see if there is a massive file in there. It is safe to delete all of the log files (del *.log).
There are some folders in /var/log that also contain logs - it is also safe to delete the log files in those folders (but don't delete the folders). For instance, "cd /var/log/frontview/backup" and "del *.log".
