Just to update everyone,
I performed a USB recovery of the firmware and the device is now showing on the network and I am able to connect to it. The problem is that I still have blank tabs for the Logs and Health tabs under "Status" in Frontview.
I don't want to rebuild my NAS from the ground up but if this is the only way to restore functionality, I will do so. Hopefully out of the 20 or so people who have viewed this post, someone can offer some advice. I should point out that I know little about Linux and Unix so I have done all that I can at this point...
