I'm having issues with the FTP service on my ReadyNAS box. After a period of time the server refuses logins/connections. I try to stop the service and I receive an error. However, if I restart the service it successfully restarts and everything works fine for a month or two. Does anybody know of any issues with this service? I have upgraded the firmware as of last week to the latest version. This has been an ongoing problem for the past year or 2.

The next firmware release will have a fix for this. PM me if you'd like to try the newer FTP server in an addon.

I'd say sometime in the next few months or so. It was expected in January, then February, so it could be a little while yet.

There should be a beta out in the next few weeks, but I have no firm ETAs.

I'll steal this thread.. I have a similar problem, except my FTP-service only works for a day at the most. Then I need to close it down (with an error-message when disabling it) and then back on again. Then it works as it should.. until next time i want to use it. Same thing happens with the bittorrent-service. I have to restart that almost every day as well. That is the current official firmware version. There is a public beta available, and I can send you an addon for an FTP update if you'd like.

What's the command to restart FTP from the command line via SSH? The GUI just gives an error.
