The OS partition is separate from the data volume - deleting the logs wouldn't help your data free space (and deleting the movies wouldn't help the OS partition).
However, it is important to maintain reasonable free space on both.
Do you have SSH installed? It's the only way to easily tell how full the OS partition is.
