ReadyNAS NV+ dead drive no backup please help!
Current state:
With disks 1,2,3,4 in I get a booting... Bad Disk Found
With disks 2,3,4 in it will boot but Frontview is never accessible. Also says that 1/1GB are free (all 4 drives are 1TB).
Raidar finds and reports that Volume C is dead
I'm not sure what else to include, so please ask and I'll provide details/logs/etc.
-Thanks!

- tdawgyAspirantI'm running in Raid X, also the logs say that Drive 4 has had errors but were reallocated, but the unit will not boot with drive 1 so I'm fearing the worst that both 1 and 4 are dead along with all of my family photos. I was using the ReadyNAS as a backup for my PC which houses my photos. But I started a rebuild of my PC earlier this week, and noticed all of these issues yesterday when I was attempting to backup the ReadyNAS back to my PC... perfect storm. PLEASE HELP ME!
- vandermerweMasterDrive 4 has probably failed, do you know what the smart stats were when the errors were reported?
Can you boot with 1,2,3?
When did you buy the unit? Warranty still valid? If so contact support and don't do anything else.
Cloning the disks is an option - you would need to clone1,2,3 and try to boot with the cloned disks. - tdawgyAspirantI bought probably 2 years ago, i'm fairly sure it's out of warranty. 1,2,3 booted last night, but now 1,2,3 also report "booting... Bad Disk Found". Raid X means that the 4th drive is the parity drive right?
- tdawgyAspirantAlso, what software would you recommend I use to clone the drives with?

The warranty is 3 years.tdawgy wrote: I bought probably 2 years ago, i'm fairly sure it's out of warranty... - vandermerweMasterContact support, they may be able to help you.
- tdawgyAspirantContacted support, they had me run seagate's seatools smart and quick tests on all 4 drives. Only Drive 1 failed on the way to the store to buy a new 1TB drive. What's the order of procedures to get it sync'd properly?
- vandermerweMasterTest the new disk first.
As you cannot boot with all 4 disks or with 2,3,4; you'll need to add the disk in place of disk 1 then boot the unit.
You need to buy 2 new disks at least, as you said drive 4 was giving reallocated sector errors before all of this started. It may also need to be replaced soon and a resync that happens when (if) the volume rebuilds may precipitate/ accelerate a failure.
It is a bit strange that you could not boot or access your data if there is only 1 drive failure.
Did you tell support that only 1 disk gave errors? - tdawgyAspirantSo I called support and they had me send them the logs I was able to pull out earlier today. They confirmed that Drive 1 was bad, but found nothing about Drive 4 (which I found odd). They assured me all I need to do is swap Drive 1 with the newly purchased Drive, I did so and now receive the following message on the LCD: 192.168.1.99 C: 1//1GB Free
Occasionally the LCD says "Vol C is dead"
And Raidar has the following information: all 4 drives as green but is showing the Volume Status as Yellow with a status of: Volume C: RAID Level X, Dead; 419 MB (0%) of 1 GB used - tdawgyAspirantAlso, the web interface is still not responding
