Readynas NV+ v2 - automatic backups doesn't work

Hi,

I have setup scheduled backups but they never run/start. I always have to manually start them or press the Backup button. Please see below my settings.
Also, every time I try to view the log for the backup the screen freezes and I get a javascript error on admin/extjs/ext-all.js:7.
I have update my ReadyNas NV+ v2 to latest firmware that was released last week.
Any suggestions on what migt be wrong would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
johk

  • Well your settings seem fine and as for the javascript error could be something is corrupted you could try a OS reinstall this will reinstall the firmware from the flash but will not destroy your data, but it will reset some settings to default like admin password and network settings read page 24-25 of the hardware manual how to do this > http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ ... Mar-12.pdf
  • Hi,
I tried that but I don't get any other options than Normal when accessing the boot menu. Also the LED's for the disks and the backup button doesn't light up when accessing the boot menu?

  • Did you follow the intrucions for boot menu exactly ? this is the procedure for your unit,
    To access the boot menu:
    1. Power off your unit.
    2. Using a straightened paper clip, press and hold the Reset button.
    3. Press the Power button to power on the unit.
    4. Continue to press the Reset button until the status display screen shows a boot menu message.
    5. Press the Backup button to scroll through boot mode options.
The status display screen shows the current boot mode option.
    6. When the status display screen shows the boot mode you need, press and release Reset button to confirm your boot menu selection.
The system boots in the selected boot mode.
  • Hi

I am having the same problem but it seems that the automatic backups will run if you have the start time between 00:05 and 14:05 for some reason anything after 14:05 does not run (or this is what is happening in my case)
  • Hi,
Yes I have followed the instructions. I get to the Boot menu but when pressing the back-up button the only option coming up in 'Normal'.
    PS
Ok I miss-read the instructions - i was suppose to release the reset button after pt.4

    Thanks,
    johk
