ReadyNAS OS 6 and Home Shares with Backupexec 15
I am using Backupexec 15 and when I connect using the Linux Agent I can see all of the shares except the HOME shares are missing. I tried to login as Admin but it fails. I login as my user name which has administrative rights and I can see all of the shares except the HOME shares so I cant back them up. Does anyone know how I can fix this.

Perhaps try changing the admin password in the web admin interface. You could change it then change it back if you like the password you currently have set.

I just love this site.
The Backupexec 15 software installs a Unix backup agent on the NAS3200 when you click to backup the server. My problem is that I could login as (jbandes) and Root but neigher of them showed my own HOME share or the HOME SHARE directories. When I tried to login as admin it would fail.
I took your advice and change the password for the admin account on the NAS3200 running OS6 and it WORKED. I can now see the HOME shares and back them up.
Fantastic and thank you.

Spoke to soon. It worked once and now is failing again. I am going to reboot and try again.

I'm not familiar with backupexec, so a little background might help. Is the Linux Agent installed on the NAS? If not, how is it accessing the shares? SMB or NFS???
Normally the NAS won't show you the home folder - it will only show you your own home subfolder (same as your user name). You can see home (as a folder in the full data volume) if you access the NAS shares using the NAS admin credentials. For instance, in a windows PC this will mount the full data volume - by default named data - (including .apps and home):
net use * /delete
net use t: \\nasipaddress/data /user:admin nasadminpassword
There is an old post from someone who was able to mount home via NFS - that is here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/Can-t-Use-NFS-to-Access-Home-Shares/m-p/955507/highlight/true#M84643
If that fails, one workaround is to back up home locally (using a scheduled NAS backup job) to a restricted share, and then use backupexec to back up the copy.
