I'm not familiar with backupexec, so a little background might help.  Is the Linux Agent installed on the NAS?  If not, how is it accessing the shares?  SMB or NFS???

Normally the NAS won't show you the home folder - it will only show you your own home subfolder (same as your user name).  You can see home (as a folder in the full data volume) if you access the NAS shares using the NAS admin credentials.  For instance, in a windows PC this will mount the full data volume - by default named data -  (including .apps and home):

net use * /delete

net use t: \\nasipaddress/data /user:admin nasadminpassword

If that fails, one workaround is to back up home locally (using a scheduled NAS backup job) to a restricted share, and then use backupexec to back up the copy.
