Thanks....but,, as I wrote - tested with 2 brand new, unopened, Seagate drives!
Both actually the same as I've already got, only 1 step later in revision but otherwise identical.

Sorry, I missed the "another extra" phrase in your first post. That makes it less likely that it's the replacement drives being DOA.
Another possibility is that something is wrong in the NAS chassis. So perhaps the next step is to test the original drive with Seatools and confirm that it has actually failed.
The resync should be completing in less than a day.
