ReadyNas Pro keeps disappearing off network

I have a ReadyNas Pro. It seems to work fine during the day but then sometime over night, every night for the last three nights, is drops off the network. So in the morning it doesn’t appear as a drive, I can’t ping it and it not on RAIDar. Its still on so I so I hold down the power button to switch it off, restart and after it boots its back on like nothing happened until the next night.............

After the second time I tried updating to the latest firmware (4.2.24) but it still did it. I wondered if anyone might have any insight into the cause?

Thanks

Mike

There is more than one possibility - one is that the OS partition might be getting full.

Try deleting the logs (backup and system) and see if that helps. DON'T try to download them to your PC first.

Are you using ReadyDLNA? Any other add-ons?
  • I downloaded the logs yesterday.
    disk_useage.log says:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/md0 4.0G 380M 3.5G 10% /
    .......
    ......

which I was assuming was the OS partition

and no there aren't any add-ons

Open a support case (see the Online Submission link in my sig) and attach your logs zip file. Hopefully support will identify some clues in the logs as to what the cause is.
  • ok thanks I'll try that.

we have had it quite a while so I was assuming it would be past any level of warranty or support

Warranty on a pro (other than pioneer) is 5 years.
  • just to update

I did get in contact with support and they suggested if it happened again to try an Os-reinstall which it did so i tried that and it seemed to fail ( just sat there not doing anything for 30+ minutes) so they suggested I pull the power and boot in Skip Volume check mode and now it doesn't appear on the network at all
