Readynas Remote 4.1 as nerdrive in win 7

HiHow can i set up readynas share as netdrive in win 7&nbsp;I am new with this!Step by step instruction if someone knows how to pls.

I have the same problem&nbsp;I dont want to install remote client on win pcHow can i map a share as netdrive in win 7.&nbsp;Is it possible via ftp or is there a better solution out there in this forum.Looking forward to step by step instructions I am new with this and hope for help&nbsp;

This is straight windows stuff - there is nothing special needed.
&nbsp;
From Windows Explorer
map network drive (on toolbar)
Select drive letter
enter \nasname\sharename
optional: select connect with different credentials, and enter the username/password you have configured on the NAS.
&nbsp;
To map the entire data volume, enter
\nasname\volumename
connect with NAS admin account credentials.
&nbsp;
Default volume name for OS6 systems is "data", for older ReadyNAS it is "C"

I'm not sure I understand you. &nbsp;I was assuming you were wanting to access the NAS on your local LAN.

Are you really asking about how to access the NAS over the internet without ReadyCloud?
&nbsp;
If so, there are two basic methods.
(a) use FTPS (which is encrypted). &nbsp;This requires setting up a small passive port range in the NAS (say 54321:54325) and forwarding port 21 and the passive ports to the NAS in your router. &nbsp;Reserving the IP address of the NAS is a good idea. &nbsp;You also need a DDNS account (for instance noip.com), and get a ddns name for your router. &nbsp;Then you can reach the NAS using FTPS over the internet (using the ddns name). &nbsp;Some FTP clients require masquerading to be turned on. &nbsp;I use FileZilla, which doesn't.
&nbsp;
(b)Use a router that supports OpenVPN, and install an OpenVPN client on your devices. &nbsp;That also needs a DDNS account. &nbsp;The VPN connects directly to your router - no other servers are involved. &nbsp; It gives you full access to your home network (printers, pcs, etc).

Thx for explanacion.&nbsp;I think if I could connect over internet with filezilla I can also map the share as webdrive.&nbsp;I am able to conect to the drive:Hostname: Ip adress from readynas remoteUser anonymusPw ???&nbsp;Filzilla says passwort problem.&nbsp;I think I have wrong ftp setup on readynas.&nbsp;How do i setup ftp accss over internet with filezilla?
