Hi everyone, I'm having serious issues with my brand new ReadyNAS Ultra 4 Plus. It's about the 4th or 5th time I'm trying to make it work properly without success. I've tried numerous setup, nothing w...

I'm making a new test with these 2 disks : Seagate Constellation ES 500GB 7200RPM SATA 6GB/S 3.5in Internal Hard Drive (http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=60924&vpn=ST500NM0011&manufacture=Seagate)
I know they are not on the list of compatible hardware either, but hey, those are entreprise level drives, they are 'best' than WD Green drives, no?
Well, they are 500Gb drives. The proccess seems faster, BUT, they are 500Gb drives, not 1.5Tb or 2Tb, only 500Gb. In about 10 minutes, it reached to 9.3%, so that is awsome, but again..., 500Gb! But if I want to compare, I would have to compare the HD bandwith from the admin web console, so I log in and click 'Volumes', I see that HD #1 is green solid and that HD #2 is blinking, so as usual. Then I see the speed of the HD (!), while the WD Green had very very unusual speeds (was getting speeds in Kb /sec, then got up to merely 20Mb / sec, never got passed 30Mb / sec), those drives (the 500Gb, enterprise level ones), are rock solid at about 110 Mb /sec, with no let down, it's keeps that speed all the way in.
By the time I wrote this paragraph, it was at 16.1%, and the admin interface says about 1 hour remaining. So my assumptions are that ... you must avoid Green drives with this at all costs, or at least, use drive on their compatibility list. The ones I'm testing are not, but you can bet I'll buy 4 x drives on their list, all identical, to get the speed it can give me. 18.7% now, speed solid at 110 Mb/sec.
So my conclusion, avoid Green drives with the ReadyNAS Ultra 4 plus, use fast drives or enterprise level hard drives (WD Black or WD Red). This test was with Seagate Constellation ES, they are quite fast, but Seagate is not my prefered company, I prefer WD better.
If someone wants to participate on this thread, go ahead, but for me, this is the results I wanted and I shared it.
22.9% now..., very fast compared to green drives...
