Sorry for bringing that one up, just another update for people looking for details.
I bought 2 x WD 3Tb RED HD, they are on their Hardware Compatibility List (HCL), put them in, and started all over again. Started about an hour ago, it already reached 22.5% so far (fast enough for me), it says that it will finishes in 5 hrs, so about exactly what I calculated.
The speed is rock solid between 120 Mb/sec and 130 Mb/sec, so that's great.
So after that I'll get 3Tb of redundant data..., and when I'll need space (I'm actually at 2,2Tb of Data), I'll just put in another drive and BAM, I'll get 6Tb of space, and I could do that once more to finally arrive at 9Tb of space in X-RAID2 with one drive of redundancy, that's more than enough for me.
