You can use an Rsync over SSH backup job or a VPN connection to backup the data between both devices.

Thanks for the quick response! That all makes sense, but would I be able to schedule automatic back ups using Rsync over SSH back up jobs? Nevermind I just read the manual and saw that you could.

Will do! The first step involves gettting back ups from my office server running VMware and Windows Server 2008 R2 to the NETGEAR NAS device over the same network. That should be pretty simple right?
