- Do you know what firmware the NAS is running? It should be on the LCD screen
- Are you accessing the admin web ui using https://nas-ip-address/admin ?
- Is there a chance that the browser has saved your previous NAS admin password? If that is the case, try accessing the NAS using a private/incognito browser window
From your symptoms, it sounds like (2) is the most likely issue. 4.2.x firmware requires the /admin at the end of the URL. If you leave that out, it redirects to /shares. That only shows shares that have https enabled as a protocol, and none have that set by default. So after a factory reset, that list will be empty.

I did a good thing.. I threw it away and bought another one.
There will certainly be smb problems and old things that are no longer supported today.
I don't even know how old it is, but it definitely won't run w11 anymore
So, I don't waste time.
