Reset to Factory Default not resetting

If you have a v2, then of course use the instructions there.
The alternative is to remove the drives from the duo, and delete the partitions on a Windows system. WDC's lifeguard diag has a quick write test that will also wipe the partition data (on all disks, not just western digital). All the information is on the disks, there is nothing reset in the flash itself.
To perform an OS reinstall or factory reset:
1. Power off your system.
2. Using a straightened paper clip, press and hold the Reset button.
3. Press and release the Power button to power on the system.
4. ...To perform a factory reset, continue to hold the Reset button until all Disk LEDs flash twice (once at 5 seconds and then 25 seconds later), and then release the button.
