Reusing used NAS drives

I have an RN104 with XRAID and am upgrading the 3tb drives to 4tb (slow proces). I want to reuse the 3tb drives and have connected to Win 7 pc via cradle to reformat and can't see the disks in disk management. The cradle works - tested it with a currently NTFS formatted 2 tb drive.

Some older cradles might not work with drives > 2 TB.

You can try installing lifeguard (western digital) or seatools (seagate) and see if those tools see the drive.  Note both tools will show the full drive list (they aren't limited to just WDC or Seagate).

Thanks, I'll give that a try,  although I was able to connect the new 4tb drives and see them in DM using the cradle.
