RN102 : can't access admin page after upgrade to 6.10.1
Hi,
I upgraded my ReadyNAS RN102 from 6.9.4 to 6.10.1, and now I can no longer access the ReadyNAS admin page. Accessing the files via SMB works fine. The status of the NAS with RAIDar is: "Management service is offline".
The diagnostics is:
- System - no errors
- Log - no error
- System Management
- Malformed json file
- Error rndb_import()
- Failed to start ReadyNAS System Daemon
Does anyone know of a way to recover access to the admin page without having to restore the factory settings and thus overwrite all the data ?
Thanks in advance !

If you don't have a backup of the files, then you should make one (since you have SMB access).
After that you could try doing an OS reinstall from the front panel. That does a partial reinstall of the OS. It will reset the admin password to password and it will reset the network configuration to use dhcp. It will also disable volume quota. Data shouldn't be affected.
What apps do you have installed (if any)?

Thanks for your support StephenB!
The NAS works in a small company as a file server, no apps are running, backup is scheduled daily.
Although we have backups on external disks I’m going to prepare another (not encrypted) backup before I start an os reinstall.
So give me a couple of days for this procedure before I will be able to reply if this solved the problem.

Hi StephenB!
Sorry for the long waiting period but the readyNAS performed well as a file server for the last months. Now - with the need of adding a user via the admin page - I tried a OS reinstall from the front panel as you recommended.
Unfortunately, this attempt failed.
The admin page is still not available and the log file still contains the malformed Jason-file message.
What can I do next? Reinstall OS via an usb boot stick?
Kind regars,
Thomas
