RN102 Problem with Front USB causing system hangs

The OS hangs whenever a non-trivial amount of data is copied to a USB hard drive attached to the front port. The back ports are fine. This seems to have been an earlier problem and fixed in 6.5.0. I'm running 6.6.1 so it looks as if it has been re-introduced. Any plans to (re)fix it Netgear? Otherwise, how can I upgrade to 6.5?

    Can you send in your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

    You can't downgrade to 6.5.

      So, I've sent the logs. Now I find I cannot even realistically back up the NAS to another network drive as it is so slow - much slower than copying from a PC to the same drive. Also, having changed the backup job that was causing problems to use the same back USB port as another job that also hangs the OS. And finally, this morning, after having to power cycle the NAS I find it has lost ALL the backup jobs. What can this device do?

       

      I have about 2 weeks before this NAS is one year old. If there is no solution in 1 week I will have to send it back to Amazon as faulty.

        Despite the NAS showing there are no backup jobs I got an email this morning:

         

        Backup job Unknown is already in progress. Consider adjusting backup schedule. 

         I'm not getting a warm feeling.
