You'll only see data if you are using the admin credentials.

I logged in to my nas (although on a mac) as admin user.
There is a folder called data. Inside there all the shares are folders. you can easy drag from one folder (share) to another and it moves instead of doing the drag to copy or the cut and paste
With previous releases the drop/drag across shares actually did a copy/delete - because the shares are btrfs subvolumes, the default linux settings treat them as separate "drives". That might have changed recently - I'm not sure.
