RND 4000 as File Server
Hello,
I have a RND4000 since this morning. I bought this NAS because I thought I could put on the hundreds of GB of movies and songs (I save all my films and CDs on computer) and thus be able to plug it into my player Home Cinema (LG) via USB and use it as a file server. Now that's my impression that the NAS does not connect as RJ45. I have an entry on my home cinema RJ45 but I do not think I can access the files. Question: Can you read files from the HDD using USB in this NAS? Otherwise is it possible to connect it to a home theater? If the answer is no to these two questions I would have a new NAS RND4000 to sell ...
Regarding the tiny notice, I really need help.
Thank you for answer.

- sphardy1ApprenticeAll ReadyNAS devices are Network Attached Storage devices - they connect to and are accessed via a standard ethernet network based on twisted pair cabling and RJ45 connectors
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_attached_storage
Direct connection via USB is not supported - the USB ports are for attaching other peripherals to the NAS such as additional Hard Drives or printers
It is very likely that you can access the NAS via your Home Cinema, but to do that you need to investigate the capabilities of your LG system further - mentalgellerAspirantThank you for your answer.
Otherwise is there a possibility to get my movies via wifi (apple TV or other ?)
Thank you - sphardy1ApprenticeOf course - but the ReadyNAS must be physically connected to your ethernet network somehow. Typically this is by connecting it directly to your home router which - if it has wireless capability - means you can then access the ReadyNAS wirelessly.
