Rsync between ReadyNAS units without including share name folder
I'm trying to migrate from one ReadyNAS unit to another using Rsync, and I'm having an issue with how Rsync is transferring the files. It is putting all of them on the destination box within a folder that is the same as the share name on the source.
Here is an example:
Source: \\NAS01\Files
Destination \\NAS02\Files
The Rsync job between those two would save everything under \\NAS02\Files\Files.
Is there any way to make Rsync not create a folder for the root, and instead just put the contents of the source share directly into the destination share?
If your rsync backup job is running on the source NAS, then you need to put a / in the local source's path. See step 16 here: https://kb.netgear.com/29741/How-do-I-back-up-data-between-two-ReadyNAS-OS-6-systems-using-the-backup-manager
