Rsync Fails

Hi All,

I got a problem with my Rsync on my ReadyNas NV+ - I have 2 NAS's at home (one readynas and another server). I was attempting to modify a previously created rsync job but after saving it no longer works. I think i know what the problem is but i'm not able to resolve it.

The modified job now shows up as this:

[personal]
192.xxx.xxx.xxx::datapool/personal

I have lots of other jobs alos running at the same time to the same server (different shares) which are working fine. E.G:

[media]
192.xxx.xxx.xxx:/datapool/media

notice the difference? - The latter job (media job) was created with a previous version of frontview installed and it working fine however my new "personal" job is failling - I think because it now has "::" instead of ":/" in the path which isn't recognising the full path of the folder location. I get the following error:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INCREMENTAL Backup started. Sat May 18 09:52:41 WEST 2013

Job: 006
Protocol: rsync
Source: [personal]/
Destination: 192.xxx.xxx.xxx::datapool/personal

@ERROR: Unknown module 'datapool'
rsync error: error starting client-server protocol (code 5) at main.c(1534) [sender=3.0.9]

Backup failed. Sat May 18 09:52:42 WEST 2013.

Reason for failure:
Error encountered copying data from source path /personal/ ==> 192.xxx.xxx.xxx::datapool/personal due to unknown reason. Please see log.

I'm pretty sure this looks like a problem with the way frontview saves jobs - HELP!!!

Frontview version: Radiator 4.1.10

    Maybe try downgrading to 4.1.8 or 4.1.9. If that solves it, you can always upgrade again.
  • Thanks for that - I just tried that - didn't work. Went to 4.1.9, 4.1.8 and 4.1.7 - didn't want to go to far back so stopped at that point. Same problem

    I created a new rsync backup job on 4.1.9 earlier this week successfully.

    Looking at my log details, all my logs have the double colon -so I don't think that is your problem. Maybe check permissions on the source and destination, and also the credentials you are using in the backup job?

    One difference is that the duo v1 is the destination, my pro is the source.

    BTW you can put the slash in yourself if you think you need it - just add it to the path name.
