Rsync on ReadyNas Duo v1 not running anymore
My ReadyNAS Duo v1 works perfectly (why do you call it end of live :-). ) Due to a disk crash, I had to install a new 2TB disk and unfortunately I also reset the NAS, which means that all backup job...

Hi StephanB,
Thanks for your reply, sorry for my late response; busy :-(.
Thanks to your determination that a forward slash was needed, I went to search again (googling). Now I finally found it in one of the messages I encountered the correct syntax. The syntax must start with 'root', so the full syntax must be 'root/users/[username]/[Directory]/[Directory]/'.
The syntax is case sensitive and the target directory must be on the target. The directory name must not contain space or punctuation. The forward slash at the end is a must.Problem solved.I now have saved the syntax in my OneNote, so I don't I will lose ever again :-).Thank you very much for your help.RuudB.

I put the screenprints in a pdf, you can download it from here:

Hello RuudB,
I recommend to check the permission of the share of the NAS which have set as the source. I have questions too.
- What happens when you test the connection on step 2?
- Are you able to ping the destination using its domain name?
- Have you tried using IP address on the destination field of the backup job instead of domain name?
- What is the firmware version of your ReadyNAS?

Your path for the strato server should use forward slashes (/), you are using back slashes (\). There should be no double slash at the beginning.
Are you sure the path itself is correct?

Hi JennC and StephanB,
Thanks for your reply.
The Strato server only accepts pathnames with backslash, see screenshots.
Using /users/[username]/Backup/Mijn Mail/ the connection test repies with 'Invalid path'
using \users\[username]\Backup\Mijn Mail the connection test (ping) replies: 'Connected to rsync.hidrive.strato.com'.
The same reply when I start with no-slash or double slash, but think one-slash is correct.
And I think this must be the correct syntax for the path, also the slash at the end of the path name is necessary, otherwise the connection fails with invalid path name.
I run the update firmware, but the latest version (4.1.16) is already installed.
I can't use an IP-adress instead of the strato domain.
JennCWhat permission do you mean, the Rsync permissions?
They are 'Read only'.
Thanks again for helping.

Sorry for double message.
Additional question and notice.
Next to the ReadyNAS I also have a backupjob runnung from my SynologyNAS, not at the same time, but can this 'connection' maybe cause the trouble?
