Security for DLNA content?

Hi, does anyone know if there's a way to restrict DLNA playback of videos on my NAS? For example if people on my wifi can see my NAS, right now anyone can view any of the DLNA content.

How can I restrict that to authorized users, or require a password?

I think DLNA Protocol do not ask for password . Only If you are connected on the same network you get access to the contents .

If you need restrictions turn off ReadyDLNA & use SMB protocol . Most media player support them as well .

      OK, that makes sense.

Is there any lightweight player for Windows 10 that can access videos over an SMB protocol?

I got the Kodi player to work, but Kodi is a really annoying program.

How About Installing VLC on Windows and Browsing the content thru SMB path \\IPADDRESS of NAS ? I dont know a lighter version than this one .
