Setting up a guest account? 6.2.0
Hi everyone
I am trying to setup anonymous guest access to my ReadyNAS 102 on 6.2.0
I have a share called "Documents" which has read/write access to 'Everyone' and has the boxed checked to allow anonymous access. When I go to \\nas on my network Windows prompts me to login with a username and password. Is there a way to disable this, to allow me to have guest access?

- Generally this happens when the windows account happens to have the same username as an account on the NAS.
By default, Windows presents its username/password to the NAS when you access it. If the username exists on the NAS and the password doesn't match, then Windows prompts for a user/password. That happens even if guest access is enabled for the share.
There are two "fixes" -
(a) enter a credential for the NAS in the windows credential manager.
(b) use the same password on the NAS and the Windows PC for that account. - Now that you mention it, the machine that I am using does have the same username. But a more secure password since it is accessible through the web.
