Share Permission Problems

I wish the GUI was made different.
Use Network Access to filter the user permissions, not File Access.
The File Access tab is only for advanced permissions.
If you filter at SMB level, you (most likely) don't need to filter again at the file level.
Configure this way under the settings of the share:
- File Access tab / Reset / Reset permissions.
- Network Access tab, set the permissions as you want.
Test it, you'll see.
EDIT: By "most likely" I mean "in most cases". If you really do need to use these advanced permissions, you should know how.
Thank you for your reply. I understood what you said and I agree that it should work.
Unfortunately that doesn't work for me. I have done as you said and have the following persmssions set on the NAS share that I am trying to access.
File Access. Folder Owner and Folder Group = guest. Ticks next to Everyone, Folder Owner and Folder Group.
Network Access. SMB only enabled. Ticks next to admin and the group name (of which I am a member).
Basically when I try and access the share from Windows 10 explorer, I type in my username and password of the account registered with the NAS drive and I can't access the share. If I allow everyone to see the share and allow anonymous access then I can access the share.
This should be really straight forward but it just isn't working for me.
I am allowing Windows to Manage my account credentials and I'm wandering if there is something cached somewhere that I am missing?
Any help would be much appreciated.
