Simple copy
Hi,
I'm looking for a way to back up ReadyNas to another Nas box. The problem I have is that I would like to backup my current data without creating an exact duplicate on the backup drive. The reason is that I have both old and new stored projects on my back-up drive and I dont want the old projects to be removed, only added too. If the ReadyNas sync's, it will create an exact copy of itself on the back-up drive which will then erase my older files. I currently use Second copy through my PC but I would prefer a ReadyNas solution which can backup which can process the back on its own.

ReadyNAS backup jobs don't sync the target to the source by default. Files on the target that aren't on the source are preserved unless you override the default settings..
But you might want to fully sync within your project folder (deleting files that are no longer part of that project). The easiest way to manage that is to separate your current and old projects on the target NAS - putting them in different shares. Then you can sync the active projects, while not touching the archived ones.
