Since Windows 11 Update, Unable to Access RNDuoV2.0 Dashboard/Admin Screen
Dear Forum Members It's been a good while since I have been on this forum, about March 2023, and as you can imagine I have run into some technical problems that I cannot work out for myself and w...

Problem 2) One of my RNDuo v2's has a partial failure, I think the internal network card is having problems because no other device on my network can communicate with this device anymore, even though it can still be seen by but not accessed by RAIDar v6.0.
I was wondering which one the following two solutions would stand the most chance of success:
a) Connect an external HD to the front USB2.0 socket and backup all my data to the ex HD, with the hope that I can stream that data to one of my other RN devices.
b) Try to buy another RNDuoV2.0 (which are now extremely rare) and put the two WD Red Plus HDs, currently in the failing V2, in the new V2.
Here is my advise on this one: With the units off, switch the drives from this DuoV2 into another that works. If the problem goes away, then it is the hardware that's the issue. If it doesn't, then it's something in the OS.
If the problem is cleared up, use the opportunity to back up the contents to an external drive. Then consider your options. Buying a used DuoV2 is somewhat risky, as they are quite old. You also need to carefully look at anything listed as a "Duo V2", as most are really V1's. Buying another brand of NAS as a replacement, perhaps large enough to replace several of your NAS, is likely going to be a better path.
When you make the backup, consider using NTFS as the drive format, then you don't need to connect it to another NAS to restore the data, you can do so from a PC if you want to.

That is a good test. Make sure the units are off when you swap the disks. If you haven't done this already, I suggest labeling them with the NAS and slot number as you remove them. That will eliminate any chance of losing track of what does where.
My guess is that will it will be the OS.
How long has the v2 had this problem? Also, what errors are you seeing when you try to connect?

FWIW, neither of these are guaranteed to work. Hopefully we can figure out what's wrong, and find a good fix.

Hi Forum Members StephenB & Sandshark
1) StephenB
Once I installed Plex 1.41, thanks to your solution, both my RN102 and RN104 started to behave as expected, apart from one small issue on the RN104, I can now add to my plex databases without problems.

As per your suggestion, I plan to look for another RNDuoV2.0, hopefully one that is either unused or lightly used. You see, I've found that although the RNDuoV2.0 is a very good product a lot of NAS users found it difficult to get to grips with and so put them away in cupboards and forgot about them. It is one of these forgotten RNDuoV2.0's that I am hoping to purchase.
I'll let you know how I get on.
