Are you using a backup job to copy the data direct between the two devices or copying the data via your PC? I would recommend using Frontview backup jobs. Use NFS for full backups and then change the backup job properties to use Rsync for incremental backup jobs.
How is your PC connected to the network?
Have you verified the NAS is connected to a gigabit router/switch? Your speeds sound like speeds you'd get using a 100mbit router.
